Sometimes, time is not enough

Accurate velocity modelling and depth imaging can be the key to understanding the subsurface, particularly in complex geological environments. Once we have reached the limitations of time processing, depth domain imaging and modelling addresses those limitations, giving clients more confidence in making costly drilling decisions. Depth processing enhances the image of the subsurface in areas where both the vertical and lateral velocity models are changing. It is commonly used in data areas that have steeply dipping events, thrust faults, fault shadows or in areas with a rapidly changing geologic environment.

Depth imaging services include:

  • Accurate model building for both 2D and 3D depth imaging-Isotropic and Anisotropic

  • 3D Tomography modeling creating smooth interval velocity fields, inverting for ray paths, reflection points, and velocities.

  • 2D interpretive processing tools allowing seismic processors and interpreters to bring their collective expertise together to construct an optimal depth velocity model.

  • 3D plane wave equation that is fast enough to iterate in a velocity modeling work flow. It is a fast and accurate wave pre-stack depth migration that can provide users with results the next day.

  • 2D and 3D post-stack depth migration with VTI and TTI capabilities.

  • 2D and 3D pre-stack depth migration with VTI and TTI capabilities.

  • All designed to run on our IBM multi-core cluster and to specifically work around typical interruptions on processing nodes or storage resources
